Hometown Mornings with John Young

Hi All!  I’m John Young; I’ve been hosting The KUIC Hometown Morning Show since November, 1999…what an amazing trip it’s been. I like to infuse the show with impressions, interesting interviews and a healthy dose of “theater of the mind.”  I also host the pre-recorded “Helping Your Hometown” weekly segment featuring local non-profit agencies explaining their services to KUIC listeners.  This is weird: I’m also a licensed therapist (BBS # 19220)…not so weird is the fact that I’m a married father of three adult children, a bicycle enthusiast, and a former session musician who still finds time to play guitar and drums in local bands.  I get the opportunity to host a ton of community events, which I love doing.  In addition to working in radio, I’m a member of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano’s “Celebrity Council”, as well as a member of The Board of Directors at Opportunity House Homeless Shelter in Vacaville. My wife Meg and I live in Roseville on our property we affectionately call “Phony Pharms” with our Black Lab Rocky, our gigantic cat Bonsai, even more gigantic Labrador Rocky, and assorted chickens 🙂

Show Features Include:

Listen every weekday for John to open the “Box of Trivia” at approximately 7:30am, and give YOU a chance to win a great prize!

Every Monday through Friday, John asks listeners “What Do You Think?” It’s a “stimulating” trivia question at about 8:30 am that covers just about everything! Guess correctly and win a great prize!
