This annual event features high school teams from Colusa, Contra Costa, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo Counties, with more than 250 students expected to compete this year.
Modeled after the Olympics, the Academic Decathlon celebrates “athletes of the mind,” fostering academic achievement, cooperation, and self-esteem. Students compete in a series of tests covering subjects such as art, music, literature, mathematics, economics, science, and social science.
