Hi All! I’m John Young; I’ve been hosting The KUIC Home Town Morning Show since November, 1999…what an amazing trip it’s been. I like to infuse the show with impressions, audience interaction and a healthy dose of “theater of the mind.” I also host the pre-recorded “Helping Your Hometown” weekly segment featuring local non-profit agencies explaining their services to KUIC listeners. This is weird: I’m also a licensed therapist (BBS # 19220)…not so weird is the fact that I’m a married father of three and a bicycle enthusiast who still finds time to play guitar and drums in local bands. I’d like to think I have a longstanding positive relationship with our audience, and listeners are featured frequently on the show. I get the opportunity to host a ton of community events, which I love doing. In addition to working in radio and the local music scene, I’m a member of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano’s “Celebrity Council”, a member of The Board of Directors at Opportunity House Homeless Shelter in Vacaville, and an Adjunct Professor in The Master’s in Social Work at Brandman University. My wife Meg and I live in Roseville on our property we affectionately call “Phony Pharms,” where we grown some of our own food and play with our Corgi dog Sonu and our cat Nigel 🙂
