John Young

Hi All!  I’m John Young; I’ve been hosting The KUIC Home Town Morning Show since November, 1999…what an amazing trip it’s been. I like to infuse the show with impressions, interesting interviews and a healthy dose of “theater of the mind.”  I also host the pre-recorded “Helping Your Hometown” weekly segment featuring local non-profit agencies explaining their services to KUIC listeners.  This is weird: I’m also a licensed therapist (BBS # 19220)…not so weird is the fact that I’m a married father of three adult children, a bicycle enthusiast, and a former session musician who still finds time to play guitar and drums in local bands.  I get the opportunity to host a ton of community events, which I love doing.  In addition to working in radio, I’m a member of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano’s “Celebrity Council”, a member of The Board of Directors at Opportunity House Homeless Shelter in Vacaville, and an Adjunct Professor in The Master’s in Social Work program at UMass Global University online. My wife Meg and I live in Roseville on our property we affectionately call “Phony Pharms.”
