Vacaville: Solano Symphony Orchestra “Annual Pops Concert”
May 21 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

A NEW SEASON
Inspiring and Enriching Concerts
With great anticipation, the Solano Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Semyon Lohss, looks forward to presenting its 36th season, featuring five concerts at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theater and a new community event in Andrews Park! The wide-ranging selection of music this season guarantees something for everyone’s tastes, including Bach’s beloved Violin Concerto in A minor, Schubert’s timeless melodies, John Williams’s heroic themes, the infectious jazz stylings of Duke Ellington, and Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic, The Nutcracker.
New this year, the Solano Symphony Orchestra will open the season with a community “Play-In” event during the highly anticipated Vacaville Arts Week, Sunday, Sept. 25 from 3- 4:30 pm in Andrews Park. Community members of all ages are invited to bring their instruments and sit alongside orchestra members to sight-read through some fun, easy and recognizable music. Non-musicians are encouraged to bring the family and a picnic blanket and enjoy the music in the park.
Finally, for lovers of popular music, the May Annual Pops Concert presents an eclectic range of musical styles, from the marches of John Philip Sousa to the jazz riffs of Duke Ellington.
Check out the details on the orchestra’s website at solanosymphony.org and stay posted for future events on our Facebook page. The Solano Symphony Orchestra is actively seeking volunteers, board members, and community musicians. Email [email protected] to express interest!
All concerts take place Sunday afternoon at 3 PM at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre.
