Vacaville: Los Cochinos Latin Rock with Lots of Soul

Los Cochinos is an established Latin rock and Soul band, said by many to have been “passed the torch” from Carlos Santana as one of the only true, original, Latin Rock and Soul bands that continue to create and perform original music.
Los Cochinos has developed a large following and has released two CDs, most recently “Los Cochinos” in 2017. The band is currently working to complete new, original songs for our next CD titled “Patricia”, in honor of Alfonso’s mother Patricia. The CD should be ready for release in early 2023 in time for the outdoor concert season.
The band’s sound has been described as similar to that of Santana, El Chicano, War, and Tower of Power. Alfonso’s melodic leads are unique and combine with the Latin percussion as well as the sax to create a unique, original Latin rock and soul sound; familiar, yet distinct.
Los Cochinos have performed with El Chicano and many other notable bands and have a significant following around the country. The band features Alfonso Portillo on guitar, Donald Osborne on keyboards, Raj Gopal on rhythm guitar, Karl Perrazo (Santana) on percussion, Tomas Montano on percussion, Ric Alexander (Tony! Toni! Toné!) on saxophone, Fauss Gamulo on bass, Lorenzo “Lonnie” Macon on drums and vocals, and John Marin on lead Vocals.
