Hi All! I’m John Young; I’ve been hosting The KUIC Home Town Morning Show since November, 1999…what an amazing trip it’s been. I like to infuse the show with impressions, audience interaction and a healthy dose of “theater of the mind.” I also host the pre-recorded “Helping Your Hometown” weekly segment featuring local non-profit agencies explaining their services to KUIC listeners. This is weird: I’m also a licensed therapist (BBS # 19220)…not so weird is the fact that I’m a married father of three and a bicycle enthusiast who still finds time to play guitar and drums in local bands (check out my band “Vino Banditos” on Facebook!). I’d like to think I have a longstanding positive relationship with our audience, and listeners are featured frequently on the show. I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve been the recipient of The Vacaville Reporter’s “DJ of the Year” award a few times, and I get the opportunity to host a ton of community events throughout KUIC markets. In addition to working in radio and the local music scene, I’m a member of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano’s “Celebrity Council”, an advisory Board Member of The Yippie Foundation, and a part-time Sociology Professor at Sierra Community College in Rocklin, California, near my home in Roseville. Oh, and I love the color Red, Burritos and Ford Mustangs!
